A Tasting Of Four Very Special Wines
Charles Krug Winery uncorks some of its finest to kick off summer
at Memorial Weekend tasting

St. Helena, CA, May, 2007 - The Peter Mondavi family has staged a comeback, wowing wine drinkers and reviewers alike with the new taste of Charles Krug wines. To drive the point home, the winery, located in St. Helena, will be uncorking four new release wines for tasting this Memorial Day weekend, all of them Limited Release bottlings with very special pedigrees.

Charles Krug Winery creates a Limited Release bottling only during optimal vintages and in small case quantities, and these wines exhibit nuances coaxed from the terroir of Charles Krug's prized Napa Valley vineyards and stellar properties in the Russian River appellation. The weekend festivities will roll out the 2004 Napa Valley Voltz Vineyard Red Wine, from grapes grown at the base of the Mayacamas mountains; the 2004 Napa Valley Lincoln Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine of concentrated flavors made from Charles Krug Winery's oldest cabernet sauvignon vines; the 2004 Napa Valley X Clones Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2005 Russian River Pinot Noir from the Dr. Maurice Galante Vineyard, noted for producing wines laced with creamy berry flavors.

This celebratory event takes place over the three-day Memorial Day weekend, May 25-May 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wine aficionados will want to stop by on Friday afternoon between 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. when winemaker Adolfo Alarcon will be behind the tasting bar, sharing his wines, answering questions and unraveling the mystique of making wine at Napa Valley's oldest winery.

A special price of $10 for this Limited Release tasting will be available (regularly $20), and the event is, as always, complimentary for Wine Club members. Reservations are not required. In addition, extra discounts will be offered to all: 10% off purchases of 1-11 bottles, and 20% off a case or more.

Charles Krug Winery was founded in 1861 and acquired by Cesare and Rosa Mondavi in 1943. Now owned by their son Peter Mondavi and family, the Charles Krug Winery produces cabernet sauvignon and other noble varietals with grapes grown in prestigious Napa Valley appellations, including Yountville, Carneros, and St. Helena. The winery is located in St. Helena, CA. Learn more about Charles Krug Winery-Peter Mondavi Family and the Memorial Day weekend tasting at www.charleskrug.com, or by calling 707-967-2200.
